Obituary of Edna Roseanna Jones

Edna Roseanna Jones “Sweet Rosie Jones”, 86, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Jesus on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born in Church Hill to the late Edwin Clay and Beryl Cradic. Rose retired from the United States Postal Service following over 30 years of service.  Rose loved to craft, sew, and was known for her “corny” jokes. She could often be seen in town either wearing her clown nose or one of her many funny hats. Rose also served as the MC for many local bluegrass shows. She was very active with the Kingsport Senior Citizens for many years and performed in many plays. Rose was a devoted member of Free Gift Gospel Mission. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Burton Jones; brothers; Gene and James Cradic; sisters, Jeanette Bledsoe and Jane Fields.

Survivors include her daughter, Holly White and husband Eric; granddaughter, Deborah Cepeda and fiancé Hunter Warren; beloved cats, Murphy, Daphne, and Marmalade; along with a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Vern Hall officiating.

A private graveside service will be conducted Church Hill Memory Gardens.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is serving the Jones family.
