Obituary of Frances Marie Stallard Meade

Frances Marie Stallard Meade, 93, of Blountville, TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2024, surrounded by her family after an extended illness. Frances is home with her Savior, and she is dancing again in the arms of her husband. Frances was born on March 27, 1930, in Greensboro, NC to D.O. and Alice Stallard. In August of 1946, Frances married her best friend and love of her life, Charles Delo Meade, and after 71 years of a beautiful life together he preceded her in death on December 5, 2017.

Frances loved her life and her family meant everything to her. She enjoyed cooking, canning, and flower gardening.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Charles Meade; infant son, Robert Steven; sisters, Lona Miller, Mary Louise Thomas, Ruth Poston, and Virginia Boggs; brother, Bill Stallard; daughter-in-law, Donna Meade; and son-in-law, Jim Hewett. Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Sue Bauer, daughters, Brenda Horne (Charles), Carole Thompson (Don), Pam Maine (Michael), and Chris Hewett; sons, Charles Meade, and Greg Meade (Laura Woodruff); 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild and another on the way; brother-in-law Earl Poston; many loving nieces and nephews; and her little dog, Sugar.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial service held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home Kingsport with Pastor Scott Price officiating. Guests are asked to arrive at the funeral home at 2:30 pm. To attend services virtually please click here.
