Obituary of Harold E. Gilreath

Harold E. Gilreath, age 80, of Rogersville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. He was a Veteran of the United States Military having proudly served his country in the US ARMY. Harold was a retiree of the Kingsport Police Department in the Detective Division. He had also served as a Deputy US Marshall, Security Officer of Northeast State Community College and as a N.S.R.A. Rep. In his free time, Harold enjoyed street rodding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.B. and Vessie Gilreath; brothers, Don Gilreath and C.A. Gilreath; and sister, June Lawson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Gilreath; daughter, Kimberly Stallard; granddaughter, Melody Lamb; great-granddaughter, Kimber Kingsfield; mother and father-in-law, Melissa and Clarence Webb; sister-in-law, Margaret Crawford; brothers-in-law, Jim Goad, Jeff Goad, Jack Goad (Brenda) and Vernon Goad; special friends, James Fields, Jim Fields and Roger Byington (Donna); several nieces and nephews.

Irene would like to say thank you to the best loving and helpful family and friends in the world and thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for their care and support.

A Military Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 performing military honors. All those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 pm. Pallbearers serving the family will be Roger Byington, Jeff Goad, Jack Goad, Chad Goad, Shannon Crawford and Brandon Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers serving the family will be James Fields, Jim Fields and Jim Goad.
