Obituary of John James Greer

John James Greer, age 76, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Holston Manor in Kingsport. He was a retiree and veteran of the United States Military having proudly served his country in the US ARMY as a SGT, Jump Master and Ranger. John would continue his career until retiring with 19 years of service in the US ARMY as a military policeman. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. John will be greatly missed by those left to cherish his memory.

John is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Greer.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A Military Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park with American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 performing military honors and Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
