Obituary of Peggy Price DeBoard

Peggy Price DeBoard, 92, of Gate City, VA, went to meet the Lord on May 4, 2024 at Holston Valley Hospital after a sudden turnaround in her health. She was a graduate of Shoemaker High School and Whitney Business College. She was a member of Thomas Village Baptist Church in Duffield, VA, where she faithfully served for many years as a Sunday School teacher, Church Clerk, and member of both the WMU and Sewing Club.

She left this earth to be reunited with her loving husband, William (Bill) DeBoard, her parents, George Harvey and Hazel Anthic Stokes Price, and her best friends, Garland and Reba Stokes and Mozella Carter.

Left here to enjoy their memories of her: son, Jeffrey DeBoard and wife, Anita; daughter, Julie Fuller and husband, Pat: two grandsons that she was so proud of, Tyler DeBoard, Austin, TX and Evan DeBoard and wife, Jordan of Lenoir, NC. Peggy was so excited about her twin great grandson and granddaughter who will make their appearance very soon. She is also survived by great friends, Dana Jenkins, Jane Carter and Marian Carney who were so faithful to call and visit her through the years.

The family would like to thank her caregivers for everything that they did through the years to allow her to stay in the comforts of her home: Lana Pope, Patricia Bloomer, Ellie Scalf, Amanda Pope, Taylor Bellamy, Bridgett Arwood, Dorothy Winstead and Melissa Bryant.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 5pm – 7 pm at Scott County Funeral Home; the memorial service following at 7:00 pm, with Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating, her son, Jeff providing a eulogy and grandson Tyler offering some personal memories. The music will be provided by Marcus and Christian Smith.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Holston View Cemetery. Everyone planning to attend are welcome to gather at 10:15 am at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
