Obituary of Don Davenport

Donald (Don) Davenport, 73, of Mount Carmel went to be with his wife, Evelyn on Tuesday (February 3, 2015). He was a lifelong resident of this area. Don enjoyed coaching youth sports for many years and was very involved in the community. He retired from Domtar with 40 years of service. Following retirement, he devoted his time to his wife, family and his "Beloved Fur Babies". He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Dillon Davenport; parents, Omer Dale and Loretta Brown Davenport; brother, Willard Davenport; sisters, Elizabeth Davenport and Betty Kelly; his step-mother, Ruby Davenport. Don Davenport is survived by his children, Tony Davenport and wife, Terry, Laura (Sissy) Kelly and fiancé, Michael Roberts, Michelle Cooper and Tim Andies, Tanya Davenport and Phil Hetzler; his grandchildren, Beau Davenport, Megan Davenport, Courtney Davenport, and Jackson Cooper along with a great grandson, Bryson; brothers, Billy Joe Davenport and wife, Virginia, Leonard Davenport and wife, Terry; his sisters, Linda Davis and husband, Ronnie, Phyllis Simmons and husband, Richard; his special friends, Pastor Jon Rogers and wife, Jennifer; special neighbors, Gary Smith and wife, Crystal along with a dear friend, Pat Clark and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday (February 8, 2015) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport in the ShareLife Room. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601 or to The Bridge Home No Kill Animal Rescue, P.O.
