Obituary of William Paul Carey

William Paul Carey 79, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was a veteran of the US Army and was the the owner/ operator of A1 painting for more than 30 years and was known as being a hard worker. Paul was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father, Willard Robert Carey; his mother, Carrie Rhoton Carey Foster and his step-mother, Ruth Stout Carey. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Goldia Ada Rose Carey; sons, Terry Carey & wife Kim and Richard Paul Carey; daughters, Donna Osborne & husband Randall, Mechelle Eaton, and Melissa Waye; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Dewey Delmar Carey & wife Minnie-Lou (Barbour); sisters, Linda Condry and Shirley Cassell; along with several nieces and nephews. A military graveside will be conducted Monday at 10 am at Mountain Home National Cemetery with honors provided by American Legion Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 with Elder Amos Bright officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45 am. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown Kingsport is serving the Carey family.
