Obituary of Penny Murray

Penny "Pinto" Murray, 53, a lifelong resident of Kingsport, was called home peacefully on Dec. 5, 2014. She was born on Feb. 13, 1961, and had attended Ketron High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Emily White; a brother-in-law, Doug Charlton; and a special nephew, Mickey Hurd. She is survived by her husband, Gary Murray; her children, Jason Duncan & wife Lori, Heather Johnson & husband Robert, and Brooke Williams & husband Cory; step-children, Jamie Murray and Beth Murray; daughter-in-law, Jodi Ward. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; four sisters, Georgia Murray, Debbie Charlton, Betty White and Cathy Dingus; along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kathy Christian, officiating. Burial will follow at Mullins Cemetery, Reservoir Road, Kingsport. Pallbearers will include family and friends. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the family of Penny Murray.
