Obituary of Edna Linn

Edna Linn, 85, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport following an extended illness. She loved to go to church when she was able and loved her Pastor and her church family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Edna was a member of Kingsport Community Church for 25+ years. She sang in the choir and was Sunday school secretary for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Roy and Anna Matilda Murray; five brothers, Sam, George Jr., Willie B., Franklin D. and Joe; and her sister, Margaret L. Shipley. Edna is survived by her three sisters, Virda Barrett of Kingsport, Thelma Galloway of Spartanburg, SC and Malinda Fletcher & husband Ray of Kingsport; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport with services at 2 pm with Pastor Ron Lowe. Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport. The family would like to extend special Thanks to the 4th floor HVCH and Medical Center nurses, Wilcox Hall nurses and to the Dr's and Nurses of Hematology/ Oncology for their compassionate care and kindness throughout her illness. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the family of Edna Linn.
