Obituary of Irene Greer Rath

Irene Greer Rath, age 91, of Surgoinsville, TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 30, 2014 quietly at home. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Laybourn (Roger) of WA; son, Larry Smith (Elaine) of AZ; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathan Laybourn of WA, and Travis and Zachary Smith of AZ; half-brother, Bobbie Webster (Geneva) of Mooresburg; 3 nieces and a nephew. The family would like to especially thank Patsy Norris who cared for Irene and made sure she received the services she needed. In addition, they also would like to thank Aid and Assist, Caris Hospice and the First Baptist Church in Surgoinsville for their care and support. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Surgoinsville with Rev. Tecky Hicks officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Surgoinsville Library. Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill is honored to serve the Rath family.
