Obituary of Billy G. Horton

Billy G. Horton, age 53, of Gate City, VA, passed away Friday evening, November 21, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport after a lengthy illness. Billy was a carpenter for a number of years and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Dicie Horton. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Mary (Phillip) Carr of Surgoinsville, TN, Betty Barrett of Church Hill, TN, Rida (James) Hatmaker of Rogersville, TN, David Horton of Clinchport, VA, Stevie Horton of Gate City, VA, and Sammy Horton of Weber City, VA; special nieces, nephews and neighbors, Teresa and Earl Grizzle; and his little dog, Rufus. It was the wishes of Billy to be cremated. Calling hours will be from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Scott County Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow with Rev. Dennis Grizzle officiating. Family and friends may call at their family home place located at 365 Chiquapin Dr. Gate City, VA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Scott County Funeral Home is honored to serve the Horton family.
