Obituary of William Bishop

William D. ("Don" or "Bill") Bishop, 70, of Church Hill passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He graduated from Rye Cove High School in 1962 and retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 1999 after 29 years of service. Bill worked from Johnson and Johnson Real Estate in Hawkins County for many years as a auctioneer and an affiliate broker. Bill started the Round Hill Farm Bed and Breakfast. He loved to farm and spend time with his granddaughters. He was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church in Bloomingdale and was a member of the quartet, "All for Him". Bill never met a stranger and he loved his church family He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Elizabeth Bishop; father, Rev. Pat "P.K. Bishop; brother, Earl Bishop and his daughter, Angela Deneen Bishop Owens. Survivors include his son, Warren Bishop & wife Stacy of Rogersville; son, William D. Bishop of the home; brother, Jimmy Bishop & wife Lorreatta of Duffield, VA; sister, Linda Bowen of Duffield; sister-in-law, Linda Bishop of Duffield; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Bishop, Laura Abigail Bishop Bowman, Allison Louise Bishop, Jordan Lawson, Hayleigh Miner, Brock Allen and Amanda Brooke Owens; two nephews; three nieces and several grand nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 till 7 pm on Tuesday (November 4th, 2014) at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City. A service will follow at 7 pm with Rev. Greg Fletcher and Pastor Adam Love officiating. Music will be provided by Theresa and Ally. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday (November 5, 2014) at Bishop Family Cemetery, Duffield, VA. Pallbearers will family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Bingham, Buster Wallen, and James Childress. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12 noon to follow in procession. Special thanks should go to the Doctors and staff of Holston Valley Hospital, Christine LaGuardia Cancer Center and Wellmont Hematology and Oncology and to the nurses and staff of Church Hill Health Care.
