Obituary of Charlie Vineyard

Charlie Vineyard, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior (Sunday October 5th, 2014) where his faith became sight. A native of Scott County, he lived in East TN most of his life. He graduated from Ketron High School in 1959; and in that same year he went to work for Eastman Chemical Company. He retired in 1995 after 36 years of service. He attended Salem United Methodist Church. Charlie enjoyed the mountains and vacations to the beach. He loved camping in the great outdoors. However, the most important thing to him, everything he did, was for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Edna Vineyard; sister, Phyllis Hammonds; twin sons, Jeffrey and Gregory and special brother in law, Perry McClain He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Shirley Vineyard; two daughters, Donna Robinson and husband Dennis and Earline Haga and husband Larry; son, Mark Vineyard and wife Nancy Lynn; grandchildren, Christy Tankersley, Cortney Vineyard, Kayla Haga and Cody Vineyard; two sisters, Nancy Hood and Barbara Hawkins and husband Edgar; two special brothers in law, Paul Baxter and wife Janice and Bobby Baxter and wife Margaret; sister in law, Virginia McClain; brother in law, Don Hammonds and several nieces and nephews The family will receive friends from 4:30pm till 7pm Tuesday (October 8th, 2014) at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7pm with Pastor Will Shewey officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am. Special thanks should go to Chris Baxter, Ted Tipton, Pete Miller, Bradley McMurray, Ken Vineyard, Adam Church, Kenneth Castle, Harold Deskins, Frank Catron and Jack Hickman for their faithful friendship.
