Obituary of Donald Ray

Donald Ray Church Hill - Donald Ray, of Church Hill was born October 8, 1950 went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2014. Donald was a member of Warriors Path Volunteer Fire Department since 1982 and became lifetime member since 2013. He was a member of Evangel Family Worship Center on Bloomingdale in Kingsport. He was a well-known videographer in the local area having videoed community events, funerals, weddings and various other venues. He was a former freelance videographer for WCYB. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Pearl Bushong Ray. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Taylor Ray; daughter, Doanna Louise Ray, her children, Bryen Alan Takoda Ray and Stephen-Michael Thomas Banks; step-sons, Huston Arnold Isley and wife Teresa, James H. "Jim" Isley III and wife Angelina of Kingsport, their children, Victoria and Jonathan, Timothy John Isley and wife Jo Ann of Church Hill, Jacob Daniel Simpson of Rockwood TN, Wm. Nathaniel Simpson of Fall Branch, his daughter, Rawna Lynn Sue Simpson; brother, James Ray (Genieva) of Harriman, TN; sisters, Brenda Kay Clark, Connie Dolan (Cole) and Sandy Statzer (Jeff); special grandchildren, Ashley Hobbs (USN), Kayla and Courtney Hobbs of Kingsport and Dakota Salyers. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Higher Ground Baptist Church, 1625 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm at the church with Chaplain Gill Chard and Rev. Jim Hagy officiating. A graveside service will be held 1 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens, Blountville, TN. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport to go in procession. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Ray family.
