Obituary of Mary Everhart Kenner
Mary Ruth Everhart Kenner, 81, of Gray, went to be with her Heavenly Father at the Life Care Center of Gray on Friday (September 5, 2014).
She was born in Surgoinsville, TN and had resided in Gray since 1974. Mary was a devoted wife who travelled with her husband while he served our country. She loved to listen to Bluegrass Gospel music and was a faithful supporter of WZAP Radio Station. She also was a monthly supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital for over 15 years. Mrs. Kenner truly had a genuine love for children. She was a member of Liberty Church and was a former member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Everhart; second husband, Coy Kenner; parents, Charlie and Linda Collins Anderson; a brother, John Anderson; sisters, Willie Bass, Bertha Botello and two infant sisters.
Mary Everhart Kenner is survived by her children, Colleen Feigley (Picayune, MS), Melvin Everhart and wife, Marcine (North Platte, NE), Carol Belcher (Gray, TN), Charlotte Williams and husband, Mike (Kingsport, TN), Conrad Everhart and wife, Kathy (Gray, TN), Connie Higgins and husband, David (Jonesborough, TN), Janet Wolfe (Gray, TN), Mary Smith and husband, Mike (Kingsport, TN); 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Mable Leeper, Reva Owens, Nell Owens; a brother, Andy Anderson along with several nieces and nephews.
A special thank-you goes out to the staff and residents of Life Care Center of Gray for the special care given to Mrs. Kenner during her stay.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday (September 7, 2014) from 4:30 pm to 7 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. A funeral will be held on Sunday (September 7, 2014) at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gary Gentry, officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted on Monday (September 8, 2014) at 1:45 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Greg Hill, Justin Hill, Josh Shepherd, Jonathan Belcher, Chris Williams, and Eric Everhart. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:00 pm to go in procession.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105 or to WZAP Radio P.O. Box 369, Bristol, VA 24203.
