Obituary of Edna Laura Dean

Edna Williams Dean, 84, of Weber City, went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning (September 4, 2014) at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Scott County. Edna loved to work in her garden and loved her flowers. Edna loved to go to church and was a very active member of Barker's United Methodist Church in Hiltons. She loved to listen to gospel music and read her bible. Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, William Manuel Dean; a great granddaughter, Kortnee Lee-Ann Ramey; sisters, Clara Vanzant, Fairy Watts, Nettie Love, Lovely Slemp; her brothers, Rev. Earl Williams and Hughie Williams. Edna Dean is survived by her son, Danny Dean (of the home); a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Joyce) Ramey (Church Hill); granddaughters, Mrs. Shannon (Missy) Berry (Church Hill), Mrs. Josh (Alisha) Calton (Mt. Carmel); great grandchildren, Christopher Gauge Berry, Savannah Grace Calton, Jackson Timothy Calton; a sister, Betty Falin (Rye Cove) along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Calling hours will be held on Saturday (September 6, 2014) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Scott County Funeral Home or friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday (September 6, 2014) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Combs and Rev. George Lane, officiating. Music will be provided by Bloodbrought and Sissy Gardener. A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday (September 7, 2014) at 2 pm at Holston View Cemetery with Josh Calton, Shannon Berry, Trevor Berry, Tootie Harper, Howard Gardener, and Randy Compton serving as pallbearers. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:20 pm to go in procession. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Dean family.
