Obituary of Fred Junior Lane

Fred Junior Lane, age 78, of Church Hill, was born June 14, 1936 in Scott County, VA to the late Elbert Martin and Rena Mae Fugate Lane. Fred loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a very special and precious son, Jackie Lane; brothers, Bruce, Lester, Ballard, Daniel and Homer Lane; sisters, Lilly Gillenwater and Pearl Ramey; and special sister-in-law, Reba Collings. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Alice, of the home; 2 daughters, Paulette Dowell (Terry) of Jonesboro, and Pam Woody (Kenny) of Kingsport; son Freddie Lane (Beth); 9 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, Allen Lane of Johnson City, Leland Lane and Beecher Lane of Kingsport; sister, Elsie Woods of Kingsport; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 5:00 -7:00 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Pat Hammonds officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kingsport.
