Obituary of Matthew Maynard

Matthew (Matt) D. Maynard, 31, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 3, 2014. He was an avid gun collector, video gamer and had a special place in his heart for children and animals. He held strong to his religious beliefs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a hard worker having worked as a diesel mechanic at Old Dominion Trucking in White Pine Tennessee for the past 11 years. He is survived by his parents, Jackie and Lavenia Maynard; brother, Jamie Maynard; nieces, Brittany and Alison Maynard; three special children, Haiden, Mason and Jaycee Byrd; uncle, Ernest Norton (Marie); aunt, Venetia (Rollie) Norton; and a host of special friends and family. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. Friends may call on the family at the home of Jackie Maynard, 979 Highridge Drive, Church Hill, TN 37642 on Wednesday after 6 pm and Thursday following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Maynard family.
