Obituary of Vernon W. Nienast

Vernon W. Nienast, 57 of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Washington County, TN and had lived in Kingsport most of his life. He was employed by World Wide Equipment in Abington, VA for 17 years. He enjoyed camping, NASCAR, wrestling and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cassie Mooney Nienast; two brothers, Jimmy Nienast and Eddie Nienast. Survivors include his loving wife of over 13 years, Joann Sampson Nienast of the home, son, James Nienast & wife Jennifer; daughter, Amanda Gibson; four grandsons, Hunter, Dylan, Cody, Jamarion Earls; two granddaughters, Alexia Greear, Kyra Gibson, Special granddaughter, Karmen Lawson; Brother, Robert Nienast; two sisters, Roberta Marlow and Nancy Woods; a special friend & caregiver, Del Arslanian; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday (June 17th, 2014) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, June 18th, 2014 at Fordtown Church of Christ, 480 Fordtown Road, Fall Branch, TN with Dewey Mooney officiating. Mr. Nienast will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service. Music will be provided by the church Choir. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Nienast, Hunter Harris-Nienast, Cody Gibson, Dylan Gibson, Joshua Earls, and Stacy Gibson The family would like to thank Dr. Anil Tumkur, MD for all his care of Vernon.
