Obituary of Lillian E. Vinson

Lillian E. Vinson, 91 of Kingsport went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 13, 2014 following a brief illness She was born in Wythe County, VA and had resided in Kingsport for over 60 years. She was an active member of Kingsley United Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women (UMW). She was an extraordinary homemaker who always loved to help others. She was an especially loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Vinson; her parents, Guy and Ada Bralley Manuel; a granddaughter, Angela Denise Phillips and two brothers, Zane Manuel and Paul Manuel. She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Elizabeth Vinson of Knoxville and Wanda Vinson Kerns & husband Bob of Kingsport; son, Timothy Vinson & wife Karola of Kingsport; a sister, Inez Duncan of Pulaski, VA; four grandchildren, Kathi Sluder, Bobby Kerns, Cynthia Duncan, and Brian Vinson; six great grandchildren, Danielle Vinson, Camden Duncan, Samuel Sluder, Christian Boruff, Haylee Vinson and Caelyn Duncan; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday June 15, 2014 from 2 - 4 pm at Kingsley United Methodist Church, 2828 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport. Funeral services will be in the chapel at 4 pm with Rev. Ray Amos, Sr. and Rev. Adam Love, officiating.. Music will be provided by John Powers and Pattie Waugh. Graveside services will be at 10 am on Monday June 16, 2014 at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens, Blountville, TN. Pallbearers will be her family and friends. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Wexford House, especially her special friend, Crystal Wood, during her brief illness.
