Obituary of Betty S. Pearce

Betty S. Pearce, age 81, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully at home as heaven gained another angel on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. She was of the Baptist faith. She had a passion for caring for her pets and was an avid Canasta player. Betty was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Pearce; parents, Floyd and Edna Smith; grandson, Randy Cunningham; daughter-in-law, Rinda Simpson; and 11 siblings. She is survived by her children, Linda Dunn, Larry Simpson, Carol Cunningham (Ed), Jimmy Pearce, Richard Pearce (Danna) and Sharon McGuire (Joe); 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Jim Holtsclaw officiating. Interment will be at Bacon-Kincheloe Cemetery, Jonesborough. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mountain Region Speech and Hearing Center or The Second Harvest Food Bank.
