Obituary of Juanita Bain Whitson

Juanita Bain Sage Whitson, 85, of Kingsport walked into the arms of Jesus (Friday May 2nd, 2014) An awesome cook, she was well known for her yellow cake and caramel icing. Juanita was a person of strong faith. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She worked in several capacities; but for the last 18 years of her career she was the manager of the gift shop at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Blake Sage and three brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kathryn Ann Sage Whitson; three sisters, Helen Thornburg, Louise Jones and Bobbie Dickenson; several nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday (May 6, 2014) at First Baptist Church, 200 W. Church Circle, Kingsport, TN 37660. A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm Wednesday at the church with Rev. Mitch Whisnant, Dr. Ron Davis and Chad Dickenson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kignsport. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to 316 Sequoyah Drive, Kingsport, 37660. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Whitson family.
