Obituary of Betty Ann Pate Chapman

Betty Ann Pate Chapman, 80, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, April 1, 2014 at Holston Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born and raised in Johnson City, was a former resident of Knoxville and had lived in Kingsport for the past six years. Mrs. Chapman was retired from Sabre Printers. She was a member of Lone Oak Christian Church. She loved to crochet, working in her flower gardening and loved her animals. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of 400 wing at Holston Manor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Allie McMackin Pate and a younger brother, Maynard Pate. Surviving are her brother, Bill Pate; her children, Thomas Webb and wife, Kathy, Judy Chapman and Steve Chapman and wife, Wanda; grandchildren, Justin Chapman and Jessica Chapman and a great granddaughter, Paisley Jane. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at Lone Oak Christian Church, 1914 Lone Oak Road, Johnson City, TN 37604 with Pastor Wayne Baker. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Susan B. Komen, 301 Louis Street, Suite 304, Kingsport, TN 37660. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the family of Betty Chapman.
