Obituary of Nathan Castle

Nathan Castle Nathan Gale Castle, 40, of Church Hill went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his home. He fought a courageous battle with Colon cancer and will forever be remembered for the strength and great faith he possessed during his journey. He was born September 23, 1973 in Kingsport. Nathan was a graduate of Sullivan North High School, class of 1992, and attended Northeast State. He was a member and served as a deacon at Phipps Bend FWB Church in Surgoinsville, TN. Nathan pursued his dream of becoming a member of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department and was very passionate about his role as a corrections officer up until his diagnosis. His favorite and most enjoyable time was spent serving the Lord and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Gregory Scott Castle; paternal grandparents, Cecil and Fannie Castle and maternal grandfather, Dan Amyx. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Tina Hommel Castle; son, Easton Castle of the home; daughters, Tiffany and Teara Castle of the home; parents, William Gale Castle and Sandra Amyx Castle of Kingsport; sister, Sabra Castle Harrison and brother in law, Danny Harrison of Kingsport; nieces, Abbey Harrison of Kingsport, Chloe and Sophie Webb of Kingsport; nephews, Jordan Harrison and fiancé Tashauna Gilliam of Moorestown, NJ, Trevor Cody Harrison and wife Ptolema Forbes Harrison of Kingsport, Dustin Harrison and fiancé Sabrina Newman of Kingsport, Brady Webb of Kingsport; great-niece, Ivannah Harrison of Kingsport. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Christopher Castle officiating. Music will be provided by Danny Moneyhun, Anthony Dickens and Terry Roberts. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be coaches and players of the 10 an under Church Hill Panthers Baseball team, David Trivette, Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, and Sheriff Wayne Anderson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Nakhoul and Margaret, all the wonderful oncology nurses at KHO that were not only Nathan's "special angels" but a part of our family; Lynn Allen with Amedisys, Susanna with Wellmont Hospice, and all of his dear friends and family.
