Obituary of Bobbie Bishop

Kingsport - Alice "Bobbie" Bishop, 80, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, February 4, 2014 at her home after a long illness. She was born in Kingsport and had here all her life. Mrs. Bishop was a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to all. She was member of Way of Life Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ransom Bishop; two sons, Larry Bishop and Lynn Bishop; parents, Lawrence and Gladys Jones and several sisters and brothers. Surviving are her daughters, Connie Bishop, Sandra Bishop and companion, Wayne Frazier and Cathey Bays and husband David; one son, Sam Bishop and wife, Geneva; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; one sister, Janice Norton and husband Lester; several nieces and nephews and special friend, and Melba Bishop. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Johnny Gibson officiating. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
