Obituary of Evelyn Bralley

Clara Evelyn Weatherly Bralley, 94, Hiltons, Virginia passed away early Saturday, December 14, 2013 at her residence. Evelyn was born February 5, 1919 to the late DeWitt and Florence Curtis Weatherly. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Joe Bralley; brothers, Joe and Jack Weatherly; sister, Jenny Rose, and; grandson, Stacy Miller. Evelyn served many years in the Scott County School System as an aide. She served as Sunday School secretary at Hiltons United Methodist Church for several years. Evelyn was a charter member of the Gate City Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and beloved by all who knew her. She is survived by three daughters: Sandra Miller, Pat Jones and husband Bill, and Kay Wade all of Hiltons, Va; three grandchildren, Shane Miller, Lori Jones and Payne Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Jamie Garrett Housewright, Courtney Buck, Kali Bishop, Isabel Miller, Emma Miller, Cole Jones and Cash Jones; one great-great grandson, Elijah Housewright; sisters Gerry Weatherly (Hiltons) and Shirley Weatherly Salyer (ChurchHill, TN); sister-in-law, Helen Weatherly. The family will receive friends from 4:30pm-6:30pm Monday (December 16, 2013) at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 6:30pm with Rev. Will Shewey and Rev. Mark Kilbourne officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am Tuesday (December 17, 2013) at Holston View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Those who plan to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15am Tuesday. The family wishes to thank the many friends, neighbors and care-givers who have offered countless prayers and kindnesses.
