Obituary of Frances Davis

Frances Ruth Davis, was born on September 5, 1927 at Speers Ferry, Virginia and died, December 13, 2013 at Wilcox Hall in Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness. The daughter of the late J. Frank and Leona Hodges Davis, she graduated from Rye Cove Memorial High School and Whitney Business College. She was employed for a while at the Kingsport Press and retired from Eastman Chemical following 41 years of service. She accepted Christ as her Savior as a young teenager and was a member of Holston View United Methodist Church, Weber City, VA. She was an active member who loved her church family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Davis. She is survived by two brothers, Cecil Davis and wife Vonda, of Kingsport, Pat Davis Sr and wife Jo Rhea, Kingsport; nephews, Jeffrey Davis and wife Donna, Jonesborough, Roger Davis and wife Jackie, Kingsport, Pat Davis Jr and wife Donita, Gate City; great nephew, Jackson Keith Davis, Kingsport and special sister in law, Edna Quillen Davis, Johnson City The family will receive friends from 1 till 2:30pm Sunday December 15th, 2013 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:30pm with Rev. Don Hanshew and Bro. Pat Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Holston View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to Holston View United Methodist Church 174 Church St. Weber City, Va 24290 or to the charity of one's choice. Carter-Trent/ Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Davis family.
