Sad to hear of the passing off Mr. Moneyhun. he was always always the first to greet us upon entering the main hall at his skilled facility of residence when we were there to pick up a patient for an appointment. Just will not be the same without seeing him every now and again

I remember "Dickie" Moneyhun from our early years at Lincoln School. As they grouped us then, he and I were in Miss Goodman's 2nd and Miss Cox's 3rd grade classes. We always ate lunch together along with Charles Compton. The three of us were good friends. Dickie seemed to always be laughing and finding things funny. He was an avid fan of the Emory and Henry Yellow Jackets. I always thought ETSC, as it was at the time, had the better teams. The weekend of the Emory and Henry versus ETSC always brought out our best arguments one way or the other. Both of us were insufferable when our team won. Dickie was a well coordinated kid and was very popular during the team selections. He was my competition in most of the athletic endeavors when we were in the same class. In the fourth grade, I was assigned to Mrs. King's 4th grade class and I have forgotten whose class Dickie was in, but I do remember playing his class in softball later on. I lost track of Dickie after we left Lincoln, but we reacquainted ourselves once we both we back to DBHS. We never formed the same friendship we had in elementary school. He was a great kid and quite a character with a lot of nervous energy. I am sure he will be missed. I am saddened to hear of his passing. But as the Bible promises, three score and 10 and then we will fly away. Good bye, my friend.

We will miss our John and his smile and jokes that he always played on us. He loved to show us his pictures of friends he went to school with and always pictures of his sister Barbara. I always looked forward to seeing what he was dressing up as on Halloween...He will be missed by his family at Greystone.

I am saddened to hear of Dickie's passing. We were high school buddies, who enjoyed doing many things together. Dickie was a great influence on my life as it was he, his Dad and Brian Keith who introduced me to Emory and Henry College. Dickie and I were fortunate to go to school there for a time. Unfortunately, our paths parted. I shall long remember Dickie as he was truly one of the good guys.

I was so sorry to hear of Dickie's passing. He was a wonderful you man when I and my husband knew him many long year ago. Terry Brummett and I Donna Jeremias Brummett, knew Dickie prior to the accident. He would come to the Johnson elementary school play ground during the summer and we would have a great time dancing to the latest rock and roll music. He was a wonderful dancer and we would all laugh and have a great time. I often thought of Dickie after we moved away and wondered how he was doing. From the other comments, I believe that he grew up to be the wonderful man he was and he continue to enjoy life although he was injured. I loved him dearly. Please know that Dickie is once again dancing in heaven and is bring joy to all those who have gone before.

I got to know John at Wexford House I loved doing activities with him. He was in the Wexford Choir which was one of favorite things we done. He loved bingo and he would tell us he was winning things to give to his sister. He was a very special person and loved by all who got to know him. Heaven has received our angel. I know he is singing in the heavenly choir now.

I know that the Lord sure received an angel in this wonderful man. I had the pleasure to get to know him for only a few short months while I was employed at Greystone Healthcare, but he would bring joy to your face each time you saw him. I will never forget, I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck and our times singing together. Thanks for the memories. Now, the Lord is getting to hear you sing. My condolences to the family in this time of loss. My prayers are with you.

I used to enjoy talking with Dick when I would transport him to the sheltered workshop at Dawn of Hope. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
