Obituary of Glenna Powell Brown

Glenna P. Brown Kingsport - Glenna Powell Brown, 81, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, December 6, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Glenna was born in Hiltons Virginia and had lived in this area the majority of her life. She retired from Eastman Chemical Company following 33 years of service. Glenna was of the Baptist faith. She loved to travel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Brown; parents, Ed and Pearl Dowell; siblings, Mattie Feathers, Nealie Cox, Sophie Dowell, Delaney Dowell, Lannie Stallard and George (Jimmy) Dowell. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A special thank you goes out to her caregiver for the care given during her illness. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday December 8, 2013 at Darthula Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Rick Vannoy officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Brown family.
