Obituary of Imogene Mitchell Babb

Imogene Mitchell Babb, 89, of Kingsport, TN left our presence to be with her Lord on November 22, 2013 at her home following a one-year battle with Cancer. Born and reared in Kingsport, Imogene was graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and retired in 1985 from Tennessee Eastman Company. One of the most fulfilling periods in her life was serving as youth counselor with her husband Carl at Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church. She was presently a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and a friend to all. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Carl Babb in 2010; her mother and step-father, Maxie and Kelsie Wagner; her birth father, William "Bill" Mitchell, when she was 11 months of age; her brother, Charlie Wagner; her brother-in-law, C.D. "Doug" Holt. Imogene is survived by her sisters, Patsy Wagner Holt of Kingsport, Brenda Wagner Castle and husband Norman of Beckley, WV; four nephews, Michael Holt and wife Nikki, Stephen Holt and wife Lorri of Kingsport, Danny Castle, Eric Castle and wife Tracy of Beckley, WV; two great nephews, Clay Douglas Holt, II of Kingsport and Tyler Castle of Beckley, WV; four great nieces, Grace, Jessi and Kelsie Holt of Kingsport and Lindsey Castle of Beckley, WV; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews by marriage. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 2 pm to 3 pm in the Carter-Trent Funeral Home Chapel. Services will follow the visitation with her great-nephew, Clay Douglas Holt, II conducting the service. Burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park following the service.
