Obituary of Bruce Hullette

Reverend Bruce Hullette went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, late Friday October 18, 2013 following a brief illness. He will always be remembered as a loving servant of God, wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He served God for 70 years pastoring many churches in New Orleans, Kentucky, and Tennessee, serving on committees, and teaching Sunday school at the Church Hill Health and Rehab Center. He was a graduate of Carson-Newman College and received his Masters of Divinity at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Reverend Hullette was proceeded in death by his loving wife of nearly 60 years Mildred "Sandy" Hullette; mother, Essie Bradford Hullette; father, Arthur Deadric Hullette; sisters, Leola Hullette and Jerry Neal; brothers, Bill Hullette, and Jack Hullette. He is survived by his children, Cynthia and Tom Pelphrey of Owensboro, KY, Rod Hullette of Rogersville, TN, Alan and Krystal Hullette of Bedford, VA, Connie and Doug Miller of Hardinsburg, KY, and Rita and Tony Dykes of Church Hill, TN; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Brian Hullette, John Pelphrey and Kelly Dew, Clark and Brandy Pelphrey, Josh and Christina Hullette, Ryan Dykes, Christopher Miller, Nicholas Hullette, Logan Hullette, Porter Pelphrey, Paker Pelphrey, and Jocelyn Pelphrey; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Join the family as they celebrate his life at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mount Carmel on Tuesday October 22, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the service following. The graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park, (Lynn Garden Community) Kingsport. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Brian Hullette, John Pelphrey, Clark Pelphrey, Josh Hullette, Ryan Dykes, Christopher Miller, and Logan Hullette. Honorary pallbearers will be the past and present deacons of Oak Grove Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Surgoinsville, Howard Hightower, John K. Williams Jr., Phillip Montgomery, Eddie Carr, and Smith Mayes. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the family of Rev. Bruce Hullette
