Obituary of Blanche Annette Sturgill
Blanche Annette Sturgill, 78 of Gate City, went to be with the Lord on Sunday October 6, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Letcher County, KY, Blanche had been a resident of Scott County for most of her life and attended Gate City Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson Sturgill; sons, Clyde Sturgill and Richard Sturgill; parents, Jack and Alley Brock Littrell; 1 sister; 2 brothers.
Blanche is survived by her daughters, Sherry Shaffer and husband Tracy and Janice Dillon and husband Donnie; sons, Paul Sturgill, George Sturgill, Mitchell Sturgill, Jimmy Sturgill and Timothy Sturgill; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice Absher and husband Steve, Lena Holland and Ruby Littrell; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City.
A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Paul Argoe officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Tolson Cemetery in Mayking, KY. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55 p.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
