Obituary of Georgia Gehman Russell

Kingsport - Georgia Gehman Russell, 69, of Kingsport went to join her savior on Monday night, July 22, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Georgia retired as a CNA in 1999 from Superior Home Health. She belonged to the Church of the Brethren. Georgia was a loving, wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearl Overbay Lampkins; brothers, Tommy Lampkins and David Lampkins; aunts, Mary Lampkins and Stella Mauk; uncle, James Mauk. She is survived by her husband, Bill Russell; son, Rolf Edmund Gehman and wife Kim of Blountville; daughters, Sharon Dawn Hatfield and husband Dave of Kingsport, Vivian Rebecca Gehman of Kingsport, a step-daughter, Christy Moudy and husband, Matt of Petal, MS along with two additional step children; grandchildren, Nathan Gehman and wife, Meredith, Jeremiah Gehman, Nicolas Wagoner and wife, Amanda and Samuel Roberts; seven step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Irene Lampkins of Kingsport; her very special cousin, Callie Lampkins. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 2 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at her residence 2446 Portland Avenue, Kingsport and from 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday evening at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Shannon Salyer officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at East Lawn memorial Park with Wayne Bledsoe officiating. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 am. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Russell family.
