Obituary of Lynn Gibson

Melanie (Lynn) Gibson, 42, of Church Hill went to be with the Lord Wednesday July 10, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a prolonged illness. She was born in Kingsport. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry Dingus and Helen Marie Short and father of her children, Kenneth Reed. She is survived by her step father, Eddie Short; son, Alex Reed and wife Elizabeth and grandchild, Natalie; daughter, Noel Reed, all of Church Hill; brother, Larry Dingus Jr and wife Regina, Rogersville; sister, Rachel Zeairs, Mt. Carmel; two step sisters, Jennifer Pinnell and husband Steve, Unicoi and Sherry Phillips, Muncey, Pa; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Pat Bishop. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Saturday at Carter- Trent Funeral Home, 1115 Hwy 11W, Church Hill. A funeral service will follow at 6 pm with Rev. Shannon Salyers officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 pm Sunday at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:15pm.
