Obituary of Nancy Castle Biggs

"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. " Nancy Castle Biggs, 95, of Kingsport, formerly of Nickelsville, passed away, June 15, 2013 at the home of her daughter. She was the daughter of C.B. and Nannie Castle. She was a devout Christian who practiced and had devoted her life to God. She lived to see six generations of the Biggs family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Biggs and grandson, Scott Adams. She is survived by her daughters, Val Biggs, Kingsport and Flo Cookenhour, Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Rick, Tim and Rob Cookenhour, Kat Grimsley, Lee and Rick Long and Jackie Adams all of Kingsport. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm Sunday at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 6pm with Rev. Mike Pelham officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am Monday at Temple Hill Memorial Gardens in Castlewood, VA. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10am to follow in procession.
