Obituary of Elsie Jean McCLellan

Elsie Jean McClellan, 70 of Kingsport went to be with the Lord at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. A native of Hallie, KY she had lived in the area most of her life. Elsie enjoyed sewing, playing card games and working puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank McClellan; parents, Hubert and Susan Watts Whitaker; one sister, Lois Cox; one brother, Lonzo Whitaker. She is survived by her two daughters, Terri Larkin and husband Mike of Kingsport and Sharon McClellan of Kingsport; five grandchildren, Ashlee Shaffer, Mitchell Larkin, Kelsie Shaffer, Erin Larkin and Madison Hughes; three sisters, Delma Stallard of Kentucky, Norma Gent and husband James of Hallie, KY, and Jackie Ison and husband, James of Indiana; one brother, Richard Whitaker and wife Nancy of Kentucky; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:30p.m. to 3p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. A funeral service will follow at 3pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Don McCann officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgans Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to aid in funeral expenses to Terri Larkin 6047 Orebank Road Kingsport, Tennessee 37660.
