Obituary of Jesse Osborne

Jesse "Jimbo" Osborne, 71, of the Blackwater community, passed away Monday May 27, 2013 after years of failing health. He was born in Lee County, October 27, 1941 to Louis and Frankie Willis Osborne. He had been a resident of Blackwater his entire life except for eight years that he and his wife, Ruth, lived and worked in Dayton, Ohio. He had worked at Chrysler Airtemp in Ohio, Foote Mineral in Duffield, A&G Electric and after 28 years of service he retired from Joy Mining Machinery in Duffield. He was a longtime member of Thomas Village Baptist Church and attended there as long as he was able. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Nadine; his eldest sister, Katy Osborne and a special niece, Alice Gault. He is survived by Ruth, his wife of over 50 years; three daughters, Christy Robinson and husband Chris of Charleston, SC , Cindy Osborne, Mt. Juliet, TN and Regina Dunlap, Blackwater; two granddaughters, Savannah Emens and Jessi Emens, Mt. Juliet, TN; three grandsons, Lucas Carter and wife April, Prattville, AL, Patrick Carter, Prattville, AL and Zackery Dunlap, Blackwater; two precious great grandchildren, Jackson and Ava Carter; three sisters, Irene Wallen, Kingsport, Julia Davis and husband Roy, Kingsport and Verna Lawson, Mt. Carmel; brother, Andrew (John) Osborne and wife Glenda, Blackwater And his little dogs, Sparky and Dolly and his cat, Susie. The family will receive friends from 5 till 7pm Thursday May 30, 2013 at Scott County Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 7pm with Rev. Don Childress and Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating. Music will be provided by Brenda Walsworth, Thomas Village Baptist Church Choir and Carolyn Smith. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am Friday in the Zack Osborne Cemetery on Canton Rd. in Blackwater, Rev. Kenneth Neeley will officiate. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 930am to follow in procession. Pallbearers will be Lucas Carter, Patrick Carter, Zach Dunlap, Kenny Bowling, Phillip Horton,Rickey McMurray, Charlie Hilton and Chris Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers are his Joy Mining Machinery co-workers. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Holston Valley Hospital, especially Jaima Brown, NP who cared for him so lovingly; Pulmonary Associates and Cynthia Dean, NP and Dr. Paul Black, nurse Linda and staff.
