Obituary of Cathy Tarbuk

Cathy Tarbuk Kingsport - Catherine (Cathy) Marie Tarbuk, 52, went to be with the Lord, her daddy and her son on May 22, 2013. Cathy was born September 23, 1960 in Bristol, Virginia. She graduated in 1979 from Virginia High School; going on to graduate from Virginia Intermont College in 1983 with a Bachelor's Degree in Science being the Valedictorian of her class while making the Dean's list every year. She devoted many years to being a social worker, helping people in every way she could until her illness would not allow her to do so. Although her health was declining, she always had a smile on her face while being determined and courageous, never questioning her circumstances. She loved her husband, children, extended family and friends more than anything and was truly a blessing to everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Wallace; son, Landon Tarbuk; mother in law, Lorraine Tarbuk; sister in law, Jan Pittman; brother in law, John McDowell; nephew, Brian Tarbuk. She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate of 31 years, Tom Tarbuk of the home; daughter, Morgan Weatherly and husband Chris of Kingsport; son, Stephen Tarbuk of Kingsport; step daughter, Darianne Amato and husband Barry of Madison, TN; three beautiful grandchildren, Lexi, Bryce and Bella of Kingsport; mother, Nina Lewis and husband Dale of Fall Branch; sister, Susan Myers and husband Keith of Roanoke, VA; brother, Michael Wallace and wife Kay of Bristol, VA; step sister, LaDonna Booher of Fall Branch; father in law, Stephen Tarbuk of San Diego, CA; sister in law, Stevie McDowell of San Diego, CA; two brothers in law, Tim Tarbuk of San Diego, CA and Alan Pittman of Oglesby, IL; seven nieces, Kari, Kelly, Kate, April, Kim, Diana, and Kirsten; three nephews, John, Brandon and Zach; many loved aunts, uncles and cousins; along with several great nephews and great nieces. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport, TN 37660. Friends may also call anytime at the residence of the daughter, Morgan Weatherly. Cathy's family would like to send many thanks to all the doctors and nurses with Wellmont Health Systems and Greystone Healthcare for all they've done in caring for her during her illness.
