Obituary of Ellis Ewing

Ellis Ewing of Church Hill, passed away Sunday May 19th, 2013 at Church Hill Health Care Center. Ellis worked as a truck driver for several years and later worked at the Elks Lodge. He proudly served his country in the United States Army; and formerly attended Souls Harbor Church of God in Church Hill. He was a loving husband, father and papaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Grace Ewing, one sister and two brothers. Ellis is survived by his loving wife, Fern Collins Ewing, of the home; one daughter, Pauletta Hite and husband Thomas; two sons, Terry and Tim Ewing; five grandchildren, Brandon, Aaron, Jonathan, Lauren and Katie; three great grandchildren, Hayden, Damien and Madison; one step great granddaughter, Erica; two sisters, Aileen Stapleton and Shelby Stamper; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Tuesday May 21st, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. A funeral service will follow at 7pm with Pastor Allen Jervey and Rev. Arthur Collins officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30am Wednesday at Mtn. Home National Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be presented by the American Legion Post # 3/265. Pallbearers will be Brandon Powell, Jonathan Ewing, Aaron Ewing, Ted Collins, Junior Collins and Tom Hite. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the family of Ellis Ewing.
