No matter whether you won or lost, no matter what kind of trouble you were in, Eddie always had positive comments for you. He really loved Dobyns Bennett. I feel honored to have known Eddie. I knew Mr. Eddie from his summer work he did at Link House! There wasn't a person there that didn't love him! He was so good with the kids! Especially the nick names he would give people and his screaming of the happy birthday song, always a hoot to be around! I packed many lunches for him and as long as it didn't involve mayo he was fine with whatever! A lovely man with a beautiful soul! We will all miss him so much!

Eddie was my coach in the sixth grade--in 1972--and yet I still rememeber his kind smile and the fact that he always seemed to be there on the sidelines as I grew up, graduated and moved on from Kingsport. He will always live in my memories of Kingsport and my thoughts of competing as a young man. I have a picture of the team from that year and it always takes me back to his love of the game. I was blessed to be coached by a man of his character. His family is in my prayers.

Eddie and i attended Dobyns Bennett at the same he graduated a year ahead me. he was well respected and loved by his classmates. always seemed to me smiling and had much affection for his many friends. i am proud to say we were good friends, not to mention his competiveness and his love for DB. Eddie continued to serve as a coach and i serve may years in the Boys Clubs profession. on occassion our teams would compet in Kingsport and Shelby. Good memories for sure. a couple years ago i watched DB, and had the chance to talk briefly talk with Eddie. nothing had changed, he had big smile and positive sattitude. leory is right, it is the relations and i would add the memories in life that matter most.their is no question that Eddie' legacy will will never die and live on. he touched and helped many young people. i was blessed to have known him and call him my friend.
