Obituary of Vinia Jean Mauk

Jean Harkleroad Mauk, 75 of Surgoinsville went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, April 21, 2013. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Surgoinsville. Jean was the former secretary of Mauk and Adams Glass Company. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Dolly Harkleroad; a brother, Frances Harlkeroad and two sisters, Juanita Russell and Betty Henderson. Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Calvin D. Mauk of the home; two daughters, Lisa Manis & husband Tommy of Rogersville and Lynette Moore of Surgoinsville; a son, Lance Mauk & wife Heather of Surgoinsville; five grandchildren, Ashley Garretson, Brittany Moore, Emily Manis, Sylvia Jean Mauk and Calvin Ray Mauk; two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Parker; brother, Henry Harkleroad & wife Louise of Kingsport along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 1115 Hwy 11W, Church Hill. A funeral service will be held at 8 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tecky Hicks officiating. Music will be provided by Marissa Diamond. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens, Surgoinsville, TN. Pallbearers will be Doug Adams, Travis Adams, Forrest Templeton, Travis Davis, Rodney Garretson, and Tyler Underwood. Honorary Pallbearers are Don Johnson and the Deacons of First Baptist Church of Surgoinsville. Those attending are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10 am, Wednesday. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Mauk family.
