Obituary of Grace Elizabeth Carty Wooten

Grace Elizabeth Carty Wooten, 85, of Kingsport died peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2013 with her family by her side. Grace was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Rev. Jesse H. Wooten (February 4, 2012); her parents Maiden and Ella Holbrook Carty; brothers, John, Hess, Bob, Bill, Walter & Hoover; sisters, Rosabelle, Ozelle, Francis and Virginia. She is survived by her sons, Larry Wooten (Glenda), and Mike Wooten (Denise) of Kingsport; daughters, Patricia Thomas (Gary) of Bristol, and Robin Knezich of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Danny Christian, Hope Wyatt, Edward Christian, Arman Moeini, Amy Fugate, Joey Wooten, Clint Wooten, Kathy Wooten and Heather Miles; great-grandchildren, Chelsie Snipes, David Snipes, Brennan Fugate, Daniel, Joshua and Madison Grace Wooten, Bridgette Christian, Dustin, Dalton and Trace Miles, and Gunner Roller; great-great grandson, Hudson & Halle Latino; brother, Clarence Ray Carty; along with several nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the love and care provided to Grace by the wonderful staff of Holston Manor Nursing Home and to Amedysis Hospice Services. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Strong and Pastor Mike Anglin officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Vernon Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 2547 Russell Street, Kingsport, TN 37660-7417 or to Sullivan Baptist Church, 4152 Maplewood Street, Kingsport, TN 37660. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Wooten family.
