Obituary of Betty Jane Bishop

Betty Jane Bishop, age 72, of Kingsport passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013. Betty was born on October 10, 1940 to the late James and Maudella Ramey Falin of Robinette Valley in Scott County, Virginia. She was a resident of Kingsport most of her life and attended Morrison City Christian Church. She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Clinton Bishop; brother, Cecil Falin; infant brother, James Falin and infant sister, Peggy Jane Falin. Betty is survived by her sons, Kenneth Wayne Bishop of Kingsport and Nicholas Shawn Bishop and wife Karen of Gray; daughter, Tracy Michelle Spivey of Kingsport; seven grandchildren, Cheyanne, Chantay, Chase Spivey and Jeremy, Daniel, Kaitlin, Leanna Bishop; one great-grandchild, Carson Spivey; two sister, Barbara Bulter and husband Garland, and Edith Mae Williams; four brothers, Billy Falin, Joe Falin, Roy Falin and wife Ula, and Robert Falin and wife Reta Kate; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport, TN. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bob Underwood, Minister officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55 p.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Bishop family.
