Obituary of Wanda Anneva Hommell

Wanda Anneva Hommell, 72, passed away on her birthday (January 4th, 2015) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. (January 4th, 1943 to January 4th, 2015) A lifelong resident of Scott County, she was a graduate of Gate City High School. She worked at Gate City High School in the cafeteria for several years and then several years at Holston Valley Medical Center. Wanda loved her kids and put them first in everything she did. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Olene Sanders, husband, William "Bunk" Hommell Sr, and her sister, Rosetta Moran She is survived by her sons, William "Pat" Hommell and girlfriend, Barbara Burnette, Bobby Jack Hommell, Joe Hommell and wife Cristie and David "Fid" Hommell and wife Amy; grandchildren, Heather Hommell, David Hommell, Matthew Hommell, Aaron Hommell and Abigail Hommell; brother, Thomas Hugh Sanders; four sisters, Maxie Brickey, Queenie Carter, Myranall Addington and Mildred Coit along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 till 7pm Wednesday (January 7th, 2015) at Scott County Funeral Home. A service will follow at 7 with family and friends speaking. A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm Thursday (January 8th, 2015) at Holston View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:25pm to follow in procession. Carter-Trent/ Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Hommell family.
