Obituary of T.M. Berry

T.M. Berry, 81, of Blackwater, VA went to be with his heavenly father early Wednesday morning November 12, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A son of the late Buren W. and the late Dora Mae Gilliam Berry, he was a lifelong resident of Scott County. T.M. was an apple picker for many years in Winchester, VA. He also worked for several years in the Scott County School System at Duffield Elementary School. He loved to spend time with his friends at the Hardee's in Duffield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Berry. He leaves to mourn his loss, his twin brother, O.M. Berry & wife Maxie; a sister in law, Barbara Berry; three nephews, Jerold, Gary and Ronald Lynn Berry; special niece and caregiver, Alicia D. McLain & husband Keith; along with several nieces, nephews, a host of friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City. A service will be at 11 am with Rev. Bill Tignor officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Gardens, Pennington Gap, Virginia with Keith McLain, Edward Osborne, Mack Edwards, Guy Tignor and Donald Ray Bledsoe serving as pallbearers. The family wished to extend special thanks to the Ridgecrest Nursing Home and the Doctors and nurses of Wellmont Hospice.
