Obituary of James Woods

Church Hill - James "Jim" Woods, 80 of Church Hill passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family, following a brief illness. He was treasure and member of Bellamy Memorial Lodge in Church Hill for many years. He enjoyed farming and NASCAR racing. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dessa; son, James of Church Hill; daughter, Rebecca Darnell and husband Michael of Kingsport; grandchildren, Courtney Sproles, Emile, Zachary and Carson Darnell; half-sister, Phyllis Acuff; half-brother, Tim Woods. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. A graveside service will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday at Morning Star Cemetery with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:55 a.m. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Woods family.
