Obituary of Kenneth J. Stapleton

Kenneth J. Stapleton, 84 of Kingsport was born January 4, 1930 in Stone Creek, Virginia and entered into Heaven's Gate on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an extended illness. Kenneth was a Disabled Veteran with service in Korea and worked with Disabled Veterans for many years. He was employed by Holliston Mills. His parents, Clifford and Cora Reynolds Stapleton; brother, Johnny Stapleton and son, Kenneth Gary Stapleton, preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Aliene Ewing Stapleton; beloved daughter, Tonya Simmons & husband Tim; grandson, Gavin and granddaughter, Emily; along with several brothers and sisters. Military Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport, conducted by the American Legion Post #3 and #265 with Bro. Elijah Woods, officiating. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 pm In lieu of flowers or food donations, the family asks that you make a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice or to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
