Obituary of Mary E. Derrick

Mary E. Derrick, 82, of Weber City, went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning (October 4, 2014) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a resident of Sullivan County until 1980 and had lived several years in Hawkins County. Mary was a wonderful homemaker and especially was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Lewis Lane Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde Derrick; her parents, Sylvester and Nancy McMurray; a sister, Nancy McKinney; brothers, Roy McMurray, Lester McMurray, and Buck McMurray. Mary Derrick is survived by her daughters, Kay Quillen and husband, Audie, Fay Hale and husband, Shane; her sons, Charles Robbins and James Derrick; 6 grandchildren, Karen Webre, Amanda Robbins, Sabrina Hartgrove, Danielle Neeley, Melissa Osborne, and Brittany Derrick; 2 great grandchildren, Emma Hartgrove and Lily Hartgrove; sister, Cassie Buchanan along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday (October 6, 2014) from 12 pm to 2 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. A funeral service will be at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jesse Hartgrove, officiating. A burial will follow at Old Union Church Cemetery, Church Hill. Pallbearers are, Bob Jenkins, Randall Cox, Wesley Osborne, Gerald McMurray, Dan Williams, Steve Willis, and Darrell McKinney. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Derrick family.
