Obituary of Cecile E. Collier

Cecile E. Collier, 88 of Kingsport passed from this life to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born, January 24, 1926 in Rambervillers, France. Marrying an American Soldier she came to the United States on the first ship of "War Brides" after WWII. She was loved by all who ever met her. She deeply loved her family and going to church was her enjoyment. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Auburn D. Collier: her parents, Emile and Helen Marguerite Robin; her brother, Max Robin and other family members in France. She is survived by her daughter, Marguerite and husband Robert "Pete" Bailey; her son, Michael R. Collier and wife Helen; three grandsons, Bobby Bailey, Ben Bailey, Kevin Collier and two granddaughters, Robin Isley and Michelle Hilton. She also had 9 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; two brother-in-laws, Fred Frazier and Joe M. Collier & wife Gail. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Funeral services will be at 7 pm in the chapel with Pastor Rev. Greg. E. Street and Rev. Billy Joe Lewis, officiating. Music and singing will be provided by Mike Boggs and Robin Isley A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, TN. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Those attending are asked to meet at the funeral home a 1 pm to go in procession.
