Obituary of Bertha Mae Necessary

Mt Carmel - Bertha Mae Necessary, 75, First Lady of the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ, went home to be with Jesus on August 15, 2014 surrounded by her family following a short illness. Yeah tho I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I have overcome the death of this fleshly body and have completed my journey. I have laid down this fleshly body and have put on my glorified body. Do not weep for me for I have won my battle and I now am rejoicing with the Heavenly angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Byington; brother, Ralph Byington and her mother-in-law, whom she loved dearly, Betty Lou Necessary. Bertha is survived by her best friend and husband of 57 years, Bishop Clarence Necessary; daughters, Teresa Gilliam and husband Tim, Judy Johnson and husband David, Jill Larkey and husband Gene and Leah Simpson and husband Jeff; sons, Jeffrey Necessary and wife Kim and Paul Necessary; sisters, Bobbie Lindsey and husband Chester, Shirley Seymore and husband Bob and Linda Scalf and husband Dale; brothers, Junior Byington and wife Shiloney and Jerry Byington and wife Bobbie; 14 grandchildren, Kevin, Jessi, Ashley, Brooke, Andrew, Jennifer, Eddie, Nicholas, Wesley, Nikki, Carson, Preston, Summer and Tori who was her special caregiver; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Melissa Casteel; special nephew, Johnny Necessary. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Friends may also call anytime at the residence at 551 Cedar Street in Mt Carmel. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fred Redman and Rev. Buddy Dingus officiating. Music will be provided by Melissa Casteel. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Rd, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601. The family would like to extend a thank you to a very special nurse, Melissa from Wellmont Hospice. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Necessary family.
